IJAS demonstrates significant editorial maturity, far exceeding the three-year minimum requirement. The journal was originally inaugurated in August 1955. Even when accounting for its current series, it has been published consistently since 1992, representing over 30 years of academic contribution. The Editorial Board of the Indian Journal of African Studies (IJAS) is constituted of senior and experienced academicians drawn primarily from the University of Delhi and other reputed academic and research institutions from India and abroad. The Board includes the Chief Editor, Editor, and advisory board who possess long-standing experience in African Studies, International Relations, Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, and related interdisciplinary fields. The composition of the Board ensures academic credibility, institutional accountability, and continuity in maintaining the scholarly standards of the journal.
