Style Sheet:

References and Citation 

The references details of all works cited in the text should be presented alphabetically at the end of the manuscript under References in sequence using the APA format (7th edition).

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

Journal of Contemporary Political Enquiry follows the ethical guidelines for promoting the integrity, credibility, transparency and accountability in publishing the manuscripts. All authors have to meet the following principles before submitting your manuscripts for publication.

I. Originality and Plagiarism Policy

Authors shall submit their original work and who must properly give credit or quote other people’s words and /or works. Citation should also be made for publications that have had a significant role in defining the nature of the work that has been reported. Plagiarism involves asserting the findings of other people’s study, copying or paraphrasing significant portions of another persons’ work without giving credit and proper citation. All forms of plagiarism are unacceptable and represent unethical publication practices. We use Turnitin for identifying AI Generated Contents.

1. All manuscripts are checked for originality and similarity. Articles with a maximum of 10% similarity index are allowed.

2. Authors have to give a proper citation for Images/ Figures and Tables used in the manuscript.

Use of AI tools

The Journal acknowledges the increasing role of AI in research and academic writing. In line with COPE’s 2023 position statement and DOAJ’s transparency principles, the following principles apply:

• AI as a Tool, Not an Author: AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Bard, MidJourney) cannot be listed as authors or co-authors; authorship is reserved only for humans who take full responsibility for the integrity of the work.

• Disclosure Requirement: authors must clearly disclose if AI tools were used for content generation, editing, data analysis, figure creation or translation, in the Methods, Acknowledgments or a dedicated AI Use Statement.

• Verification of Accuracy: authors remain fully responsible for checking the accuracy of any AI-assisted content; fabricated or unverifiable content generated by AI is not acceptable.

Acceptable Uses of AI

• Language Support: grammar checks, spell corrections, style improvements.

Prohibited Uses of AI

• Generating full manuscripts or substantial portions of text without disclosure.

• Using AI to fabricate references, data or experimental outcomes.

• Employing AI-generated images, graphs or figures without verification and transparency.

• Submitting AI-generated literature reviews or discussion sections as original scholarly interpretation.

Corrective Action:

Undisclosed or unethical use of AI will be treated as academic misconduct and investigated under COPE guidelines, which may result in immediate rejection or withdrawal of the manuscript, retraction of published articles, notification to the authors’ institution(s), and future submission restrictions for responsible authors.

If ethical violations are identified, the journal reserves the right to take corrective action — including manuscript rejection, retraction of published articles or notification of institutional authorities. Retractions and corrections follow established international guidelines.

III. Author Responsibilities

Authors affirm that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by any other publication. Proper attribution of sources — through citations and acknowledgments — is required for any ideas, data or content drawn from other works.

Disclose any potential conflicts of interest and acknowledge all sources of financial support.

Obtain the necessary permissions for copyrighted materials, including images and figures.

Ensure that all listed authors have significantly contributed to the research and writing; those with marginal contributions, such as proofreading or administrative support, should be acknowledged separately.

The corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final submission.
