Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between emotional engagement, intent-to-quit, and demographic variables—age, work experience, and gender—among 110 IT-BPO employees aged 22 to 35 years (mean age = 29), with a sample of 71% male and 29% female, and work experience ranging from 5 months to 10 years. It used ANOVA, moderation, and post hoc analyses to determine the difference in Employee Engagement and Turnover intentions among demographic groups. Employee engagement of the IT-BPO companies’ employees was measured through a culture-specific measure to enhance its authenticity. 7he study reveals that age and work experience were positively associated with engagement, while gender differences were found in engagement scores but not in turnover intentions. This highlights that demographic factors, age, and tenure are stronger predictors of engagement than gender in the IT-BPO context.
