Information For Authors
The Journal of Library and Information Science (JLIS) attempts to promote research and scholarly discussion on problems and policies concerning library and information science development. JLIS is devoted to advancing and disseminating the fundamental and applied knowledge in an accessible manner through research papers, surveys, book reviews, letters to editors, short communications, and the reproduction of special lectures.
1. Typescript Accepted: The journal accepts the research and survey papers. Research papers (Max length: 5000 words or 10 typed pages of A4 size including tables and figures) are expected to contain original research findings clearly and concisely.
2. Submission of Papers: Authors should submit the computer print in duplicate, typed in double space on one side of the A4 size ( 210 mm x 297 mm) paper, with a margin not less than 40 mm on the left side. Each copy should include (i) title page (ii) abstract, (iii) nomenclature of symbols used, (iv) table/figure/illustrations typed/drawn on separate sheets along with their captions in serial order as they appear in the text, and (v) a separate list of figure captions. The Editorial Board encourages authors to submit papers in electronic form in Word compatible files and request to send through mail at office@libinfosci.du.ac.in.
3. Authorization Letter: Manuscripts are accepted to understand that they have not been and are not to be published elsewhere. Please send a letter of authorization mentioning that "the paper is an original work and has not been submitted/ published elsewhere. I/We further certify that proper citations to the previous reported work have been given and no data/tables/figures have been quoted verbatim from other publications without giving due acknowledgement and without the permission of the original author(s). The consent of all the authors of this paper has been obtained for submitting the paper to the Journal. publication in any other publication. The editors have the right to make necessary changes in the contents of the papers".
4. Title of Paper: The title should include: the title of the paper, name(s) of the author(s) and affiliation(s), and the email address of the contact person to whom communication should be sent ( in case of multiauthored papers). The title should be concise and indicative of the contents of the article. The sub-title should be avoided unless necessary.
5. Abstract: The abstract should convey the scope of the paper, emphasizing the results and conclusions. The abstract must be intelligible on its own, without reference to the main text. The abstract should not include anything that is not covered in the paper. The limit for your abstract is 250 words in a single paragraph and 12 points (Times New Roman Font) with 1.5 spaces. Please keep the page margins 2.54 cm all around. Use single-line spacing and justify the paragraph. The editors reserve the right to edit abstracts for clarity or correctness of English but will consult the author if any significant changes are needed.
6. MANUSCRIPT COMPONENTS:
6.1 Headings for Sections and Sub-sections: Use decimal numbering for sections and sub-sections (e.g., 3, 3.4, 3.41, 3.411, etc.) in Arabic numerals. Do not assign numbers to "ACKNOWLEDGMENT" and "REFERENCES".
6.2 Formatting Guidelines: Main Section Headings: Use Times New Roman, 12-point, bold, uppercase, and left-justified. Sub-headings: Use Times New Roman, uppercase, 12-point, and left-justified (not bold). Common Section Headings:

For other types of studies, alternate headings may be used as appropriate.
6.4 Figures and Tables Formatting Guidelines:

All figures and tables should be center-aligned and sized to fit within the main body of the manuscript.

Figures must be cited in the text before they appear and should be inserted immediately after the citation.

The figure caption should be placed below the figure, formatted as:

Tables must also be cited in the text before insertion and should be placed close to the citation.

Both figure and table captions should be center-aligned with their respective visuals.
6.5 Abbreviations and Acronyms: You may use abbreviations and acronyms. Please define all abbreviations and acronyms for the first time they are used in the text. Please try to avoid abbreviations in headings and titles. You may add a list of symbols/abbreviations/acronyms/ notations if required.
7. References: References must be provided in APA style (latest edition). You may use an online citation generator or else citation management tools (Zotero, Mendeley etc.) to get the APA style (latest edition)) reference format.
