PRESENTATION AND TECHNICAL STANDARDS

❖ CITATION FORMAT

JLIS follows the latest APA referencing style to ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability of scholarly sources. Authors are required to use appropriate in-text citations, provide complete and accurate references, and include DOIs where available. Detailed citation and formatting requirements are provided through the JLIS Manuscript Template and author guidelines.

❖ DESIGN AND READABILITY

JLIS uses a prescribed manuscript template to promote consistency in the presentation of scholarly articles. The author guidelines specify requirements for titles, headings, structured abstracts, keywords, tables, figures, captions, and references. Figures must be of appropriate quality, while tables and illustrations must be clearly numbered, captioned, and appropriately sourced.

❖ ARCHIVING AND ACCESSIBILITY

JLIS provides open access to all published content from Volume 50 onward through its OJS platform, supported by digital preservation mechanisms including LOCKSS and the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). The complete archives of Volumes 1–49 are also accessible through the DLIS website and JLIS OJS. The journal website maintains both current and past issues in a structured and easily navigable archive, with individual articles available as downloadable full-text PDFs. Together, these platforms ensure sustained discoverability, accessibility, retrieval, and preservation of JLIS scholarly content.

❖ MULITILINGUAL AVAILABILITY

JLIS currently publishes its scholarly content primarily in English. The present OJS does not specify a separate multilingual publication policy. Any future expansion to Indian-language publishing may be accompanied by appropriate language, metadata, abstract, and accessibility guidelines.

❖ SUBMISSION PLATFORM

JLIS operates an online OJS submission and editorial management system. Authors submit manuscripts through the platform using the prescribed manuscript template. They are required to complete the journal's submission checklist and provide relevant author information, including affiliation and ORCID where applicable.

❖ PUBLICATION TIMELINEESS AND EARLYCITE

JLIS does not promote “rapid review” or “instant publication” as a general publishing claim. The journal follows a biannual publication schedule, with issues normally appearing in June and December. Its EarlyCite facility enables eligible accepted articles to be made available online before their inclusion in a scheduled issue, subject to completion of the required editorial and production processes.

❖ PRINT CONTINUITY

JLIS has a long-established print publication history and carries Print ISSN 0970-714X, with its e-ISSN currently in process. The OJS maintains a structured sequence of issues and archives, supporting continuity and consistency in presenting the journal's published content.

❖ PDF ACCESSIBILITY AND PERMISSIONS

❖ Published JLIS articles are available as downloadable PDFs through OJS, with QR codes as a prominent feature for quick, convenient retrieval. By scanning the QR code, readers can access articles anytime and anywhere, enabling seamless on-the-go scholarly access and discovery.

❖ The journal's author guidelines also specify requirements regarding copyright permissions and acknowledgment of sources for reused photographs, datasets, tables, figures, and other copyrighted material, including the use of AI tools.
